What counts in life? What experiences are we looking for and how do we build our own story?

Sometimes it takes encounters with people who take a different path to remind us that not everything can be measured in numbers. The sinn\salon creates a space for stories, questions and exchange.

sense\salon #2

The sinn\salon #2 took place on July 12, 2025.

This time, five WELTREPORTER.NET correspondents from France, Italy, the USA, Argentina and New Zealand reported on fashion, Hollywood, religion, spiritual communities and the cult of presidents such as Trump and Milei in Barbara Heine’s sinn\salon – real, contemporary cult trips.

A unique opportunity to see more than just the beautiful surfaces, as our tour guides were five journalists from WELTREPORTER.NET who research the hotspots of global cult phenomena.

Together with them, we explored the psychological, cultural and social mechanisms that captivate people around the world. What helps, what is hype – and what is threatening, destructive or even criminal?

sense\salon #1

Sinn\salon #1 with the sailor, psychologist and lighthouse keeper Thomas Bickhardt had his première on May 16, 2025.

After a life as a sailor and a degree in psychology, Thomas Bickhardt set off from Hamburg 30 years ago in a VW bus and made the remote and dilapidated KrÃ¥kenes Fyr lighthouse on Norway’s stormy west coast his home more than a thousand kilometers further north.

In the first sinn\salon, Thomas Bickhardt shared his experiences: About arriving in Norway, the best color for painting the exterior of the weathered lighthouse, about the raging hurricanes and about unbelievable silence.
